One of our core product lines is blank washing machines for metal stamping plants. The function of the blank washer is to clean metal blanks of any contaminants and then coat the blanks in a controlled film of drawing oil.

This oil is a requirement for the drawing process, controlling the film thickness to provide an optimum amount of oil, improves quality and reduces both costs associated with oil wastage and costs associated with rework issues due to panel blemishes caused by too much or too little oil.

Clean oil is essential, especially when pressing skin type panels. Ensuring that the oil is free from dirt and dust prevents blemishes from occuring during the drawing process and prolongs die life. Independant tests have confirmed that the PES Wash units are global leaders in panel cleaning and oil film application.

In addition to the world leading oil filtration, PES Wash Units also raise the bar against its competition by offering many other unique features, features such as the 'aligator' opening top, which allows blank retreival and maintenance inspections to be carried out with ease. The complete top can be opened up in just few minutes.

Raising the bar for the competition

Over a span of 3.5 years operating 3 shifts, an independent study of the PES Washer has proven to reduce particulate levels by more than 50% in the washing oil, than our nearest competitor.

This means less particulates being left on the washed blank, leading to an overall better finish on panels and increased time between filter element changeover. In turn this leads to reduced costs for filtration consumables and less costs spent on panel reworks due to blemishes.

4.2m Wash Unit 161.jpgAssuming a production rate of 200 vehicles per day and by reducing the oil film thickness from 2 grams per square metre to 1 gram per square metre, utilizing oil at a cost of $AU 3.86 per litre savings of over $AU 50,000 are possible, per 1 gram reduction in film thickness.
With the growing demand on quality of supply to the world market it is a distinct advantage to check the roll quality weekly with a visual inspection. Rival oiler-washer units can take upwards of 4 hours to open, and even then inspection is difficult due to the gap being only between 150 to 300m through which to conduct the inspection.
The PES wash unit can be opened and a full inspection carried out within 30 minutes.
This means that savings of 80% of maintenance costs can be made on conducting inspections
